THE EXPERIENCE LIBRARY

Find what feels right for you.

Some people come for rest. Some come to move, make things, spend time in nature, meet people, or explore a question they have been carrying. Yoglala brings together different possibilities—with room for you to choose.

This is a library of experiences we may offer, not a promise that every activity is available at every retreat.

OPTIONS, NOT OBLIGATIONS

There is no one right way to spend your time here.

Every retreat has its own setting, team, schedule, and budget. We shape the experience around the people who are coming, while being honest about what is feasible and safe.

01

Yoga & body movement

Find a way of moving that meets you where you are. Nothing here requires you to be flexible, athletic, or experienced.

  • Micro movement and gentle mobility
  • Yoga Nidra and guided rest
  • Restorative yoga
  • Yin yoga
  • Gentle Hatha yoga
  • Ashtanga Vinyasa, only where appropriate and led by a qualified teacher

Intensity varies. More vigorous practices are optional and are not the default for a rest-focused retreat.

02

Breath & settling practices

Simple practices that invite attention to the present moment, with options for people who do not enjoy breath-focused exercises.

  • Gentle relaxation breathing
  • Comfortable, unforced breath awareness
  • Balancing practices with no breath retention
  • Optional energizing breath practices when suitably facilitated

No one is asked to force, hold, or intensify their breathing. People can stop or choose another grounding option at any time.

03

Sound & Nada Yoga

Listen, notice, and explore sound as an experience—not as a guaranteed treatment.

  • Sound awareness and listening
  • Singing bowl experiences
  • Optional voice, humming, or mantra
  • Introductory Nada Yoga practices

Sound-sensitive guests should be able to request lower volume, distance, or a quiet alternative.

04

Creative expression & self-exploration

Make something, play, or follow your curiosity without needing to be talented or productive.

  • Drawing and painting
  • Singing, music, and simple instruments
  • Dance or free movement
  • Journaling and reflective prompts
  • Creative play, values, interests, and aspirations

Sharing artwork or personal reflections is always optional. The aim is exploration, not performance.

05

Meditation & mindfulness

Different ways to pay attention, with room to choose a method that feels accessible.

  • Observer-style awareness
  • Guided meditation
  • Trataka (steady-gaze practice)
  • Walking meditation
  • Silent sitting

Meditation is not suitable or comfortable for everyone in every moment. Guests can keep their eyes open, move, or stop.

06

Emotional wellbeing & reflective practices

Gentle opportunities to notice feelings, build awareness, and practise grounding with clear boundaries.

  • Emotional awareness and naming feelings
  • Grounding and present-moment orientation
  • Guided reflection and journaling
  • EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), if appropriately facilitated
  • TRE (Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises), only with suitable training, screening, and consent

These are not a substitute for mental-health treatment. Trauma-related or body-based methods require specific competence, informed consent, and a clear stop/opt-out process. They will not be offered until Yoglala verifies facilitator qualifications and safeguards.

07

Nature & contemplative traditions

Make space for the living world and, where welcomed, local contemplative traditions shared respectfully.

  • Forest immersion and mindful walks
  • Earth, garden, and soil connection
  • Water-side reflection where safe and permitted
  • Buddhist contemplative practices introduced with context and respect
  • Nature-based reflection and quiet observation

We will not promise supernatural effects, cures, or the removal of harmful energies. Cultural and religious practices will be represented honestly and respectfully.

08

Consultations & personal guidance

Where useful and available, guests may be offered access to appropriately qualified practitioners.

  • Pre-retreat conversation about interests and practical needs
  • Optional practice suggestions for home
  • Ayurvedic practitioner consultation, if credentials and scope are verified
  • Consultation with a licensed modern healthcare professional, if arranged

Consultations are only advertised when a qualified practitioner, clear scope, availability, and fee are confirmed. No diagnosis or medical advice is implied by the general retreat programme.

09

Community & shared living

Connection can be lively or quiet. Guests decide how much social time feels right for them.

  • Optional sharing circles
  • Conversations and shared tea
  • Shared meals
  • Games, music, and group walks
  • Quiet company without the need to talk

No one is required to disclose personal experiences, join a circle, or participate socially to belong.

10

Local connection & giving back

When local people want to collaborate, guests may have opportunities to learn, contribute, and meet people respectfully.

  • Learning from local artisans
  • Cultural exchange led by willing local partners
  • Environmental care and community-led activities
  • Local festivals or events when invited
  • School-related learning activities only with formal partnership and child-safeguarding arrangements

Community activity is never a tourist performance. It requires local consent, a useful agreed purpose, fair arrangements, safety, and an option not to participate.

11

Lifestyle reflection & everyday resets

Notice what supports you in daily life and choose small, realistic changes if you want to.

  • Reflecting on routines and boundaries
  • Exploring anger or frustration through safe reflection
  • Digital pauses and attention breaks
  • Rest, quiet, and unstructured time
  • Choosing a small practice to continue at home

We do not offer detoxification, substance withdrawal, fasting, or purging programmes. Alcohol or drug withdrawal can be medically dangerous and requires appropriate medical care.

HOW WE MAKE IT PERSONAL

Designed with you, not just for you.

Before you arrive. We ask about your interests, expectations, comfort, and practical needs.

While you are here. We offer a manageable set of choices and adapt when we reasonably can.

Always. You can decline an activity, take a break, or choose quiet time without needing to explain yourself.
